Grabtsevo Airport ((ロシア語:Аэропорт Грабцево)) is an airport in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, located northeast of Kaluga. It accommodates small airliners. The airport is currently (as of ) 100% owned by the Ministry for Economic Development of Kaluga Oblast〔http://www.gorbatin.su/2014/11/blog-post_87.html〕 The airport was closed in 2001 due to lack of financing. In 2009 the ownership was transferred from the Russian federal government to the regional government.〔http://www.informetr.ru/journal/news/region/4118〕 Reconstruction of the terminal building and the runway began in 2012 after all planing had been completed. In 2008, news media announced that Volkswagen Rus OOO (the Russian subsidiary of the German automotive industry conglomerate and holding company Volkswagen Group) is ready to invest between 400 to 500 million rubles into the airport.
